    From the Indiana Dunes National Park, head south on IN-49. Continue for about 5 miles until you reach the intersection with US-6. Turn left onto US-6 (also known as W. 6th Ave) and continue for approximately 3 miles. Follow the signs for Portage, and you will eventually reach Riverwalk Dr. Turn right onto Riverwalk Dr and continue until you see the entrance to Portage Lakefront & Riverwalk on your right. There is free parking available at the site.

    If you prefer public transportation, first take the South Shore Line train from the Dune Park station located within Indiana Dunes National Park. Purchase a ticket to the Portage/Ogden Dunes station. The fare is approximately $5.
