Start from the heart of Fountain Square at the intersection of Virginia Avenue and Prospect Street. Head northwest on Virginia Avenue for about 0.4 miles until you reach the intersection with W Washington Street. Here, you will see the iconic Fountain Square Theatre to your left. Continue walking straight until you reach the White River State Park. Follow the signs towards the Canal Walk. Once you reach the Canal Walk, turn left and walk along the waterway. The Downtown Canal Fountain is located at 336 W Walnut St, which is just a short 0.2-mile walk along the canal. Enjoy the scenic views along the canal and look for the fountain on your right.

From Fountain Square, locate the nearest bus stop on Virginia Avenue. Take the IndyGo Route 18 bus towards the 'Eagle Creek Park' line. Stay on the bus for about 10-12 minutes and get off at the 'Senate Ave & Washington St' stop. From there, walk northwest on Washington Street for about 0.3 miles until you reach the Canal Walk. Turn left onto the Canal Walk and continue walking for approximately 0.2 miles. The Downtown Canal Fountain will be on your right at 336 W Walnut St. Note that bus fare is $1.75 for a single ride.
