    If you are starting from downtown Michigan City, head east on Franklin Street until you reach Lake Shore Drive. Turn left (north) onto Lake Shore Drive and continue walking. The zoo will be on your left at 115 Lake Shore Dr. It is about a 20-minute walk from downtown.

  • Bicycle

    Begin your ride at the Michigan City Public Library. Head south on 7th Street, then turn right onto Washington Street. Continue until you reach Lake Shore Drive. Turn left (north) on Lake Shore Drive and cycle for about a mile. The Washington Park Zoo will be on your left at 115 Lake Shore Dr. The entire journey should take around 10-15 minutes.

  • Public Transportation

    From the Michigan City train station, take the South Shore Line train to the next stop, Carroll Avenue. Exit the train and walk east on Carroll Avenue until you reach Lake Shore Drive. Turn left (north) onto Lake Shore Drive and walk for approximately 15 minutes. The zoo is located at 115 Lake Shore Dr on your left.
