Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving, head towards U.S. Route 20. From anywhere in The Calumet Region, merge onto U.S. 20 East. Continue on U.S. 20 for about 10 miles until you reach the exit for IN-49 North. Take the exit and merge onto IN-49 North. After about 2 miles, take the exit onto IN-2 West. Continue on IN-2 for about 5 miles, then turn right onto N 25 E. The entrance to Indiana Dunes State Park will be on your left at 1600 N 25 E, Chesterton, IN 46304. Note that there is a parking fee of $12 for Indiana residents and $15 for non-residents.

• Public Transportation (Train & Bus)

  For public transportation, first take the South Shore Line train from any station in The Calumet Region to the Chesterton/Duneland station. The fare varies based on your starting station, typically around $5-$10. From the Chesterton/Duneland station, you can catch the Dunes Express shuttle bus (check the schedule as it operates seasonally) which will take you directly to Indiana Dunes State Park. The ride is approximately 15 minutes. Be sure to check the shuttle's operational days and times ahead of your trip.
