    If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Padang, the capital of West Sumatra. Head east on the Jl. Raya Lintas Sumatera road. Continue for about 70 km until you reach the Kabupaten Tanah Datar area. Look for signs indicating Danau Singkarak, which is along the Jl. Jendral Ahmad Yani road. The lake is approximately 15 km from the main road. Parking is available near the lake, but be prepared for a small fee that may range from IDR 5,000 to IDR 10,000.

  • Public Transportation - Bus

    To reach Danau Singkarak via public transportation, take a bus from Padang to Solok. Buses leave frequently from the Padang bus terminal (Terminal Alang-Alang Lebar). The journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours and costs around IDR 30,000 to IDR 50,000. Once you arrive in Solok, you can take a local minibus or ojek (motorcycle taxi) to Danau Singkarak, which is about a 30-minute ride. The fare for the local transport may cost you around IDR 20,000.
