Getting There

• Walking

  From Athlone Railway Station or Athlone Bus Station, take Bus Éireann routes A1 or A2 towards the town center. Alight at the Athlone Town Centre stop and walk for 10 minutes along Church Street and the River Shannon Walk to reach the castle. A single fare on Bus Éireann within Athlone costs approximately €2-€3.

• Taxi

  Taxis are readily available in Athlone. A taxi from the Athlone Railway Station or the town center to Athlone Castle will cost approximately €8 - €12. Taxi ranks are located at the train station and on Church Street.
