If you're traveling by car, start from the town of Castletownbere. Head southwest on the N71 towards the Beara Peninsula. Continue on this road until you reach the ferry terminal at the end of the road. Follow the signs for the Bere Island Ferry, which departs regularly from the pier. The ferry ride takes about 20 minutes and costs approximately €10 for a round trip. Once you arrive at Bere Island, follow the signs to Ballinakilla. The Bere Island Heritage & Information Centre is located at Ballinakilla Bere Island, Co. Cork, P75 W660, just a short walk from the ferry terminal.

Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, you can take a bus from Kenmare to Castletownbere. Buses are available via Bus Éireann service. Once you arrive in Castletownbere, you will need to walk or take a taxi to the Bere Island Ferry terminal. The ferry operates regularly, and the round trip fare is about €10. After crossing to Bere Island, follow the signs towards Ballinakilla for about 1 kilometer to reach the Bere Island Heritage & Information Centre at Ballinakilla Bere Island, Co. Cork, P75 W660.
