If you are driving from Glendalough, head northwest on the R756. Continue on this road for approximately 5 kilometers. You will reach a roundabout; take the second exit onto the R115. After about 2 kilometers, you will see a sign for Barnaslingan on your right. Follow this road for about 1 kilometer until you reach the parking area at Barnaslingan. Parking is free.

To reach Barnaslingan using public transportation, you can take a bus from Glendalough to Dublin. From the Glendalough Visitor Centre, walk to the bus stop and catch the number 65 or 67 bus towards Dublin City. After approximately 45 minutes, get off at the stop for Sandyford. From there, you can take a taxi or rideshare service directly to Barnaslingan, which is about 10 minutes away by car. Taxi fares may vary, but expect to pay around €15-€20.

If you prefer to walk from Glendalough to Barnaslingan, it is about a 7-kilometer trek. Start at the Glendalough Visitor Centre and follow the signposted trails leading to the R756. Once you reach the R756, turn left and continue walking until you reach the turnoff for Barnaslingan. The walk will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, and you will enjoy beautiful scenery along the way. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water.
