    From Sligo town, head to the Bus Station located at 1-2, O'Connell Street. Take the Bus Éireann route 64 towards Donegal Town. The journey takes approximately 1 hour. Get off the bus at the Donegal Town stop. From there, walk to the Quayside area, which is about a 10-minute walk to the Abbey of Donegal. Head southwest on Main Street, continue straight onto the Quayside, and the Abbey will be on your left.

  • Train and Bus

    From Sligo, take a train to Dromahair Station. Note that train services may be limited. Once you arrive at Dromahair, take a local bus or taxi to Donegal Town. The bus will take approximately 30 minutes. In Donegal Town, walk to the Quayside area, which is about a 10-minute walk to the Abbey of Donegal. Head southwest on Main Street, continue straight onto the Quayside, and the Abbey will be on your left.

  • Walking

    If you are already in Donegal Town, you can walk to the Abbey of Donegal from the town centre. Start from The Diamond (the central square) and head south on Main Street. Continue straight for about 0.5 miles until you reach the Quayside. The Abbey of Donegal will be on your left at the Quayside.
