From Sligo, head to the Sligo Bus Station located at 6, Quay Street, Sligo. Take the Bus Éireann service heading towards Donegal Town. Ensure you check the schedule in advance, as buses may not run frequently. After approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes, disembark at the nearest stop to Muckross Head, which is the village of Muckross. From the bus stop, walk approximately 1.5 kilometers towards the coast, following the signs for Muckross Head. The Discovery Point is located near the coast, where you will be greeted by stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean.

If you prefer to walk or bike from Sligo, you can follow the cycle route along the R287 road, which leads towards Muckross. This route is approximately 20 kilometers and will take you around 3-4 hours to walk, or about 1-2 hours to cycle, depending on your pace. Start by heading out of the town center on the R287 road, following the signs toward Ballina. As you approach Muckross, you'll see scenic views of the countryside, and once you reach the village, ask locals for directions to the Wild Atlantic Way Discovery Point at Muckross Head.
