Getting There

Car
From Aosta, take the SS26 road heading north towards Courmayeur. After approximately 30 km, take the exit towards Cogne (SS580). Follow the SS580 for about 24 km until you reach the town of Cogne, which is one of the main gateways to Parco Nazionale Gran Paradiso. There is a parking area near the visitor center where you can leave your car. Note that parking may incur a small fee.

Public Transportation
From Aosta, take the regional bus operated by SAVDA towards Cogne. Buses typically run several times a day. The journey will take approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Be sure to check the latest bus schedule for departure times. Once you arrive in Cogne, you can walk to the visitor center which is about a 10-minute walk from the bus stop. The bus fare is around €7-€10.

If you're already in Cogne and want to explore the park, several hiking trails start from the town. One popular route is the Valnontey trail, which leads deeper into the park. Make sure to wear appropriate hiking boots and carry enough water and snacks for your hike.
