Getting There

  • Walking

    From the Basilica di San Francesco, exit the basilica and head towards the main street, Via Frate Elia. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with Via San Francesco. Turn left onto Via San Francesco. After a short distance, turn right onto Via del Comune. Follow this street until it leads you to the main square, Piazza del Comune. Once at the square, you will see the beautiful Tempio di Minerva. From Piazza del Comune, head towards the narrow street on the left side of the square, Via Portica. This street will take you uphill. Continue on this path until you reach the significant landmark of the Rocca Maggiore fortress. From here, you will have a clear view of the surrounding area. To reach the Torri di Properzio, you need to walk back down from the fortress, retracing your steps towards the main square. Once you reach the square, follow Via Torri di Properzio which will take you directly to the historical site. The entire walk should take around 30-40 minutes.
