On Foot
If you are in the central area of Bergamo, start by heading towards the Funicolare (cable car) station at Viale Vittorio Emanuele II. Take the Funicolare up to the Città Alta (Upper Town). Once you arrive at Città Alta, exit the Funicolare and walk straight towards Piazza Vecchia, a famous square in the heart of the Upper Town. From Piazza Vecchia, head towards the Colleoni Chapel, then continue straight onto Via Colleoni until you reach the end of the street. You will see the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore to your left. From there, walk towards the Basilica of San Simpliciano, which is about a 20-minute walk from Piazza Vecchia.

Public Transport
From the Bergamo train station, take bus number 1 towards 'Città Alta'. After approximately 15 minutes, get off at the 'Piazza della Libertà' stop. From there, follow the signs towards the Funicolare (cable car) station and ride it up to Città Alta. When you arrive at the top, exit the station and walk towards Piazza Vecchia. From there, head towards Via Colleoni and continue until you see the Basilica of San Simpliciano on your right.

If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from anywhere in Bergamo directly to the Basilica of San Simpliciano. Just tell the driver to take you to 'Piazza S. Simpliciano, 7, Milano'.
