Getting There

  • Car

    To drive from Cervinia to Zermatt, start by heading towards the town of Breuil-Cervinia and follow the signs for the A5 motorway. Take the A5 towards Aosta, then exit at Aosta Est. Continue on the SS26 towards Morgex. From Morgex, follow the signs for the SS26 again and then take the SS27 towards La Thuile. From La Thuile, continue towards the Mont Blanc Tunnel. Note that there is a toll for the Mont Blanc Tunnel (approximately 56 euros). Once you exit the tunnel in France, follow the signs towards Chamonix and then take the A40 towards Geneva. From there, head to the A9 towards Sion, and finally take the exit for Zermatt. Keep in mind that Zermatt is a car-free village, so you must park your car at the designated parking area in Täsch (there is a daily parking fee). From Täsch, you will take a train (approximately 12 euros) to Zermatt, which takes around 12 minutes.

    If you prefer to travel by public transport, start your journey from Cervinia by taking a bus to the nearby town of Chatillon. Bus services are available, and the trip takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Chatillon, switch to a train heading towards Aosta. From Aosta, take a train towards Brig. In Brig, transfer to a train heading to Zermatt. The entire journey will take approximately 3 to 4 hours, depending on the connections, and you will need to purchase separate tickets for each leg of the journey. Ensure you check the train schedules in advance.
