Car
If you are driving from Gran Paradiso National Park, the Regional Archaeological Museum is located in Aosta. Start by heading south on SP50 towards Aosta. Merge onto SS26, following signs for Aosta. Continue on SS26 for about 30 km until you reach the city. Once in Aosta, follow signs for the city center. You can park nearby, but be aware that there may be parking fees ranging from €1 to €2 per hour, depending on the zone.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can take a local bus from various points in Gran Paradiso National Park to Aosta. Check local schedules as routes may vary. The journey takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours depending on your starting point. Once you arrive at the Aosta bus station, it’s a short 10-minute walk to the museum. Head southeast on Via Monte Solarolo and take a left onto Via Roma, then continue straight until you reach Piazza Pierre-Leonard Roncas where the museum is located.
Combination (Car and Walking)
If you drive to Aosta, park your car in one of the public parking lots near the city center. From the parking area, it’s a pleasant 10-15 minute walk to the Regional Archaeological Museum. Head towards the center following the signs for historic attractions. The museum is located at Piazza Pierre-Leonard Roncas, 12. Make sure to have some coins ready for the parking meter, as this is typically required.
