Walking
From the central train station in Herculaneum (Stazione di Ercolano), head east on Corso Resina towards Via XX Settembre. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Via dei Pini. Turn left onto Via dei Pini and follow it until it merges into Via Roma. Keep walking straight until you reach the portico of the Herculaneum archaeological site, then take the stairs down to the main road, Corso Garibaldi. Continue towards Naples until you reach a large intersection with Via dell'Università. Cross the street and continue straight on Via del Grande Archivio until you arrive at the State Archives of Naples, located at Piazzetta del, Via del Grande Archivio, 5.

From Herculaneum, walk to the nearest bus stop located on Corso Resina. Board the EAV bus (Line 1) heading towards Napoli. The ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the stop 'Piazza Garibaldi'. From there, walk towards Via dell'Università and turn right onto Via del Grande Archivio. Continue walking straight until you reach the State Archives of Naples at Piazzetta del, Via del Grande Archivio, 5.

Make your way to the Herculaneum train station (Stazione di Ercolano). Take the Circumvesuviana train towards Napoli. After about 20 minutes, disembark at the Napoli Garibaldi station.
