Truffle Tasting Experience in Matera

Loved it!

A Must-Visit If You Love Truffles If you love truffles, I would call this a must-visit in Matera. It’s a small shop with extremely high-quality products, some very tasty samples, and genuinely some of the nicest people you could meet. We love truffles, and we absolutely loved this experience. One thing that really surprised me was the difference between fresh truffles and the truffle oils we’re used to in America. If you’re on the fence because you think truffles are going to overpower everything, don’t be. The freshly shaved truffles were actually much more delicate and mild than I expected, but still incredibly flavorful. This was our first true truffle tasting, and it gave us a completely different appreciation for what real, high-quality truffles taste like. Highly recommended.

Pasta & Tiramisu Class at Local's home with tasting in Matera

Wonderful experience!!

I enjoyed this cooking class so much. I learned how to make many different kinds of pasta shapes and we also made Tiramisu! The best part of this experience was Filomena and her daughter making me feel so comfortable in their home and her husband even joined us for dessert. Such lovely people. The sauce that we created for the pasta was so delicious & made with all local and fresh ingredients! You will need transportation to the town because it is a bit outside of Matera. However, it was totally worth the trip. I have wonderful memories and will try to make the dishes on my own. Thank you Filomena!!
