Truffle Tasting Experience in Matera

Loved it!

A Must-Visit If You Love Truffles If you love truffles, I would call this a must-visit in Matera. It’s a small shop with extremely high-quality products, some very tasty samples, and genuinely some of the nicest people you could meet. We love truffles, and we absolutely loved this experience. One thing that really surprised me was the difference between fresh truffles and the truffle oils we’re used to in America. If you’re on the fence because you think truffles are going to overpower everything, don’t be. The freshly shaved truffles were actually much more delicate and mild than I expected, but still incredibly flavorful. This was our first true truffle tasting, and it gave us a completely different appreciation for what real, high-quality truffles taste like. Highly recommended.

We had a fabulous wine...

We had a fabulous wine tasting and food pairing at La Gattabuia in Matera today. It was hugely informative about wine from the local area. The food was fantastic, paired beautifully with the wine and showcased the best of the region. We stayed well beyond the 1.5 hours of the wine tasting and we were never made to feel like we overstayed our welcome. Thank you so much for a delightful afternoon.
