Discover more about Tenuta di Salviano

Tenuta di Salviano is more than just a winery; it's a journey through Umbrian history and viticultural excellence. The estate's origins trace back to a Roman villa strategically positioned along an ancient route connecting Lazio and Umbria. The Montemarte family built Castello di Titignano on the opposite side of the Tevere river valley in 937 A.D. Over the centuries, the estate has been owned by various noble families and the Catholic Church, each leaving their mark on the land. In the 20th century, the Incisa della Rocchetta family, known for their iconic Sassicaia wine, acquired the estate. Today, Giovanni and Tara Incisa della Rocchetta passionately manage the 2,500-hectare estate, producing wines that reflect the unique terroir of the Orvieto region. The estate spans 173 acres of vineyards on the southern bank of Lake Corbara. The volcanic soil composition contributes to the distinct character of their wines. A visit to Tenuta di Salviano offers a multifaceted experience. Guests can take guided tours of the vineyards and cellars, learning about the winemaking process from grape to bottle. Wine tastings allow visitors to sample the estate's diverse portfolio, including Orvieto Classico, Lago di Corbara Rosso, and Grechetto. The estate also produces a sparkling Metodo Classico from Pinot Nero grapes. Beyond wine, the tranquil setting invites leisurely strolls through the vineyards and picnics amidst the vines.
