    If you are starting from the Pisa Centrale train station, exit the station and head north on Viale Gramsci. Continue straight for about 1 km until you reach Piazza del Duomo (the Cathedral Square). From there, you will see the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa. Walk past the tower, and continue on Via Santa Maria until you reach the intersection with Via dei Mille. Turn left onto Via dei Mille and continue until you reach the intersection with Via San Matteo. Turn right onto Via San Matteo and you will find the National Museum of San Matteo on your left at Piazza San Matteo In Soarta, 1.

    If you prefer taking a bus, locate the bus stop at Pisa Centrale train station. Take bus number 4 or 5 towards 'Pisa - Via San Giusto'. Get off at the 'San Matteo' stop.
