Walking
If you're in the historic center of Rome, the easiest way to reach Saint Peter's Square is to walk. Start at Piazza Navona. From there, head southwest towards Via Agonale. Continue straight onto Via di Panico, then turn left onto Via della Cuccagna. Follow this street until you reach Via del Teatro Pace. Turn right and continue until you reach the Tiber River. Once at the river, turn left and walk along the riverbank until you reach the Ponte Sant'Angelo (Bridge of Angels). Cross the bridge, and upon reaching the other side, continue straight onto Lungotevere Castello. This road leads directly to the entrance of the Vatican. As you approach, you'll see the majestic dome of St. Peter's Basilica ahead. Continue walking until you reach Saint Peter's Square, marked by its grand colonnades.
