From there, head towards the river (Tiber) and cross the bridge called Ponte Sisto. After crossing, turn left and walk along the river until you reach the first main street on your right, which will lead you back into Trastevere. Continue straight until you see the bustling Via della Paglia, and then turn right. Follow this street, and it will lead you directly to Piazza di Santa Maria in Trastevere, where the basilica is located.

If you're further away in Trastevere, you can take Tram Line 8. Board the tram at the nearest stop (Trastevere has multiple stops for this line, such as 'Trastevere/Mastai' or 'Trastevere/Min. della Salute'). Ride the tram towards 'Viale di Trastevere'. Get off at the 'Piazza Sonnino' stop. From there, head straight towards Via della Lungaretta, then turn left to reach the main square. Walk a few more minutes, and you will arrive at Piazza di Santa Maria in Trastevere. Note that a single tram ticket costs €1.50 and is valid for 100 minutes.
