From the main square of San Gimignano, Piazza della Cisterna, head towards the northwest corner of the square where you'll see the Torre Grossa. Walk straight along Via San Giovanni, passing by shops and restaurants until you reach the intersection with Via Folgore da San Gimignano. Turn left on Via Folgore da San Gimignano. Continue straight until you reach the end of the street, where it meets Via del Castello. Turn right and follow the road as it curves, leading you directly towards the exit of San Gimignano. Once you exit the town walls, you’ll see signs directing you to Volterra. The distance is approximately 30 kilometers, and you should plan to take a bus or a walking tour that can accommodate this journey.

From San Gimignano, head to the bus station located at Piazzale Martiri della Libertà. Make your way down Via Roma, and you will see the bus station on your left.
