From the Marunouchi Central Exit, the Imperial Palace East Garden is a 5-minute walk. Head west, and you'll see the palace grounds with moats and walls. Entry to the outer gardens is free. From the Yaesu side, you can walk to the Ginza shopping district in about 18 minutes. Note that the Yaesu and Marunouchi sides have North, Central, and South exits.
