From Hakata Station, take the Chikushi Exit and head towards Hakata Ekimae, the main road. Walk straight for about 10 minutes, passing shops and cafes. Look for the intersection with a large electronics store on your right. The Hakata Sennen-no-Mon Gate is located just past the intersection at 1 Chome-7-29-9 Hakata Ekimae.

From Hakata Station, you can take the City Loop bus. Get off at the Hakata Ekimae stop, which is near the gate. Bus fares within Fukuoka City typically start from ¥100. Consider purchasing a Hayakaken or Nimoca IC card for convenient travel on buses and subways.

Hakata Sennen-no-Mon Gate serves as a symbolic entrance to Hakata's temple district, inviting visitors to explore the area's cultural treasures. Completed in March 2014, the gate commemorates Hakata's long history and expresses hope for its future prosperity.The gate's design incorporates elements that reflect Hakata's heritage. The main structure is built with 1,000-year-old camphor wood donated from Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine. The transom features carvings inspired by the kenjo-gara patterns found in Hakata-ori textiles, a local craft. The gate is a reconstruction of the old Tsujidoguchi-mon Gate that once stood on the road from Hakata to Dazaifu during the Edo period.Located a short walk from Hakata Station, the Hakata Sennen-no-Mon Gate provides a starting point for exploring Hakata's historical sites, including temples and shrines. It's a reminder of Hakata's past as a bustling port city and a center of cultural exchange.
