Walking
From the Nakasu area, head towards the nearest subway station, Nakasu-Kawabata Station. Exit the station and walk towards the river. You should see the Nakasu district's vibrant atmosphere around you. Walk south along the river until you reach the intersection with Kamikawabatamachi Street. Turn left (east) onto Kamikawabatamachi Street and continue walking for about 5 minutes. The Statue of Otojiro Kawakami will be on your right at 12 Kamikawabatamachi, Hakata Ward.
Public Transport - Subway
If you are farther away in Nakasu, you can take the Fukuoka City Subway. Board the Kuko Line (Airport Line) at Nakasu-Kawabata Station in the direction of Meinohama. Travel for one stop and get off at Tenjin Station. From Tenjin Station, follow the signs to the exit that leads to the Nishitetsu Bus Terminal, then walk towards the river. Head east along the riverfront and turn left onto Kamikawabatamachi Street. Walk for about 5 minutes, and the statue will be on your right at 12 Kamikawabatamachi, Hakata Ward. Note that the subway fare is approximately 200 JPY.
