Getting There

  • Car

    From Hakone, take Route 138 towards Fujiyoshida. The drive takes approximately 40 minutes depending on traffic. Follow the signs for Fujiyoshida and then Route 177. When you reach Fujiyoshida, look for signs for Fuji Walking Park, located at 1770-12 Araya. There is parking available at the park, which may incur a fee of around 500 yen for the day.

  • Public Transportation

    Start at Hakone-Yumoto Station. Take the Hakone Tozan Railway to Odawara Station. From Odawara, transfer to the JR Tōkai Line towards Atami and get off at Fujiyoshida Station. From Fujiyoshida Station, take a local bus (Fujikyu Bus) towards Fuji Walking Park. The bus ride is about 15 minutes. Be sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time as it may vary. The bus fare is approximately 300 yen.

  • Combination of Train and Walking

    Begin at Hakone-Yumoto Station and take the Hakone Tozan Railway to Gora Station. From there, transfer to the Hakone Tozan Cable Car to Sounzan Station, then switch to the ropeway towards Togendai. At Togendai, take the bus towards Fujiyoshida, and get off at Fuji Walking Park. The total travel time is around 2 hours. The combined cost of the train, cable car, and bus is around 1,500 yen.
