    If you're driving, start from the center of Hitachi. Take Route 6 heading south towards Mito. Merge onto Route 50 and continue until you reach the Ibaraki Prefectural border. Continue on Route 50, which will eventually lead you to Kamakura. Upon entering Kamakura, follow signs for Nikaidō. Kakuon-ji is located at 421 Nikaidō, just off the main road. There is parking available nearby, but be sure to check for any parking restrictions.

    From Hitachi Station, take the JR Joban Line towards Ueno. Transfer at Toride Station to the Tsukuba Express Line and head towards Kamakura. Once you arrive at Kamakura Station, exit the station and take a local bus (Kamakura City Bus) heading to Nikaidō. Get off at the Nikaidō stop. Kakuon-ji is a short walk from the bus stop at 421 Nikaidō. Follow the signs to Kakuon-ji as you walk; it's about a 10-minute walk from the bus stop.

    From Hitachi, take the Ibaraki Kotsu bus service that goes directly to Kamakura. Check the schedule for the next available bus and board it. Once you arrive in Kamakura, you can take a local bus to Nikaidō. Get off at the Nikaidō stop, and Kakuon-ji is within walking distance from there.
