If you're driving, start from the center of Hitachi. Take Route 6 towards Mito and continue for about 45 km until you reach the junction with Route 50. Take the exit for Route 50 towards Tokyo. Follow the road signs towards Tokyo. Upon entering Chiyoda City, follow the signs for Kokyogaien. The Remains of Wadakuramon Gate Guardhouse is located at 3 Kokyogaien, which is easily accessible with parking available nearby. Be aware that parking fees may apply.

For visitors using public transportation, start by taking a train from Hitachi Station to Mito Station on the Joban Line. From Mito, transfer to the Tohoku Shinkansen heading towards Tokyo. Get off at Tokyo Station. From Tokyo Station, take the Marunouchi Line to Otemachi Station. Exit the station and walk towards the Imperial Palace, heading to Kokyogaien. The Remains of Wadakuramon Gate Guardhouse is a short walk from the Imperial Palace grounds. Expect to spend around 2,000 to 3,000 yen for the train fares, depending on the route and time.
