Car
If you are driving from central Hyuga, start by heading south on Route 10 (Nihonbashi Street). Continue for about 10 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Route 218. Turn right onto Route 218 and follow it for approximately 5 kilometers. Look for signs leading to Horikiri Pass, and turn left onto the road that leads to the pass. Follow this road for another 2 kilometers, and you will arrive at Horikiri Pass (984 Uchiumi, Miyazaki, 889-2164). There is parking available at the pass.
Public Transportation
To reach Horikiri Pass via public transportation, start at Hyuga Station. Take a local bus from Hyuga Station to Uchiumi. The bus ride will take about 30 minutes, and you will need to pay a fare of approximately 500 yen. Once you arrive in Uchiumi, the nearest bus stop to Horikiri Pass is about a 15-minute walk. Follow the signs or ask locals for directions. It is recommended to check the bus schedule in advance, as services may be limited.
