If you're traveling by car, start from the center of Kai. Take Route 20 heading southeast toward Kofu. Continue on Route 20 for about 20 kilometers until you reach the junction with Route 140. Merge onto Route 140 and follow the signs towards Kirishimataguchi. After approximately 25 kilometers, you will reach the town of Kirishima. Continue driving until you see signs for Mitarashi Falls. The falls are located at 2587 Kirishimataguchi, Kirishima, Kagoshima 899-4201. There is parking available near the falls, but be prepared for a small fee (around 500 yen) for parking.
