Car
If you are driving from the center of Iki, take Route 3 towards the ferry terminal. Board the ferry to Fukuoka, which costs around 2,000 yen for a one-way trip. Once you arrive in Fukuoka, follow signs for the Kyushu Expressway (E3) heading north towards Matsumoto. After approximately a 3-hour drive, take the Matsumoto Exit and follow Route 15 into the city. Matsumoto-jō Castle is located at 4-1 Marunouchi, Matsumoto, Nagano 390-0873. There is parking available near the castle for a small fee.
Public Transportation
To reach Matsumoto-jō Castle by public transportation, start by taking a bus from Iki to the ferry terminal. Then, board the ferry to Fukuoka (costing about 2,000 yen). Once in Fukuoka, take the JR Chuo Line to Nagoya Station (approximately 2 hours). From Nagoya, transfer to the JR Shinonoi Line towards Matsumoto Station (about 2 hours). Once you arrive at Matsumoto Station, take a local bus or a 15-minute walk to the castle. The castle address is 4-1 Marunouchi, Matsumoto, Nagano 390-0873.
