Car
If you are driving from the center of Kai, take Route 20 heading towards Kofu. Merge onto the Chuo Expressway (E20) and head towards Tokyo. Follow the expressway signs to Tokyo for approximately 100 km. Once you reach Tokyo, take the exit for Ueno. After exiting, follow signs for Taito City. Continue onto Route 4 and then take a right onto Nishiasakusa Street. Higashi Hongan-ji will be on your right at 1 Chome-5-5 Nishiasakusa.

Public Transportation
To reach Higashi Hongan-ji using public transportation, start by heading to the nearest train station in Kai, which is either the Kai City Station or the Kofu Station. From Kofu Station, take the JR Chuo Line towards Tokyo. After about an hour, transfer at Shinjuku Station to the JR Sobu Line (Rapid) towards Narita. Get off at Asakusa Station. From Asakusa Station, exit and walk towards Nishiasakusa Street. Higashi Hongan-ji is located at 1 Chome-5-5 Nishiasakusa, approximately a 10-minute walk from the station.
