If you're driving from central Kai, take Route 20 heading northwest. Follow the signs for Route 52, and merge onto it towards Sakata. Continue on Route 52 for approximately 25 kilometers. As you approach Sakata, take the exit towards Onaricho and follow the signs directing you to Onaricho. The Homma Museum is located at 7-7 Onaricho, and ample parking is available nearby. Expect a drive of about 30-40 minutes depending on traffic.

To reach Homma Museum via public transport, start at the nearest train station in Kai, which is Kai Station. Take the JR Chuo Line towards Nagano and transfer at Takato Station to the JR Uetsu Line towards Sakata. Get off at Sakata Station. From Sakata Station, take bus number 7 towards Onaricho and get off at the Onaricho stop. The Homma Museum is a short 5-minute walk from the bus stop.
