Getting There

  • Car

    From the center of Kai, head southeast on Route 20 towards Kofu. Merge onto Route 140 and continue for approximately 30 km. When you reach the intersection with Route 411, take a left. Follow Route 411 for about 5 km until you reach the outskirts of Tokyo. Continue straight until you reach Taito City. Once you enter Taito City, look for signs for Yanaka. The Kokozan Daienji Temple is located at 3 Chome-1-2 Yanaka, which should be visible as you approach. Parking may be available nearby.

  • Public Transportation

    Start from Kai Station and take the JR Chuo Line towards Tokyo. Get off at Kanda Station (approximately 1 hour). From Kanda Station, transfer to the JR Yamanote Line and head to Nippori Station. At Nippori Station, transfer to the Keisei Line and take the train to Nishi-Nippori Station. From there, it is about a 15-minute walk to Kokozan Daienji Temple. Head northeast on Yanaka Street until you arrive at the temple located at 3 Chome-1-2 Yanaka.

    From the center of Kai, take the local bus service to Kofu Station. At Kofu Station, transfer to the express bus bound for Tokyo. The bus will take you directly to Tokyo Station. Once at Tokyo Station, walk to the JR Yamanote Line and get on the train towards Nippori. At Nippori Station, you can transfer to the Keisei Line to Nishi-Nippori Station. From Nishi-Nippori Station, it's a 15-minute walk to Kokozan Daienji Temple located at 3 Chome-1-2 Yanaka.
