If you are driving, start from central Kai and head towards Route 20 (Chuo Expressway). Merge onto Route 20 and continue until you reach the Tokyo exit. Follow signs for Ueno and then for Ueno Park. Once you are close, look for parking lots around Ueno Park. After parking, walk towards Ueno Zoo, located at 9-83 Uenokoen, which is a short 10-minute walk from the main entrance of Ueno Park.

To reach Ueno Zoological Gardens by public transportation, make your way to the nearest train station in Kai and take the JR Chuo Line towards Tokyo. Disembark at Tokyo Station, then transfer to the JR Yamanote Line. Take the Yamanote Line towards Ueno and get off at Ueno Station. From Ueno Station, exit through the Park Exit and head towards Ueno Park. The zoo is located within the park at 9-83 Uenokoen, just a short 5-minute walk from the park entrance.
