If you're driving from central Kai, head southeast on Route 20. Continue on this road for about 15 kilometers until you reach the junction with Route 57. Take the exit toward Route 57 south. Follow Route 57 for approximately 20 kilometers. You will pass through the town of Yufu. Keep an eye out for signs directing you to 'Yufuincho Kawakami.' After turning onto the local roads, follow the signs to Yunotsubo Kaido, which is a scenic road lined with shops and cafes. Parking is available nearby, and be prepared for parking fees that can range from 300 to 600 yen depending on the lot.

To reach Yunotsubo Kaido using public transportation, start at the nearest train station in Kai, which is Kai City Station. Take the JR Chuo Line to Oita Station.
