Car
If you're driving from central Kai, head southeast on Route 20. Continue on this road for about 15 kilometers until you reach the junction with Route 57. Take the exit toward Route 57 south. Follow Route 57 for approximately 20 kilometers. You will pass through the town of Yufu. Keep an eye out for signs directing you to 'Yufuincho Kawakami.' After turning onto the local roads, follow the signs to Yunotsubo Kaido, which is a scenic road lined with shops and cafes. Parking is available nearby, and be prepared for parking fees that can range from 300 to 600 yen depending on the lot.

Public Transportation
To reach Yunotsubo Kaido using public transportation, start at the nearest train station in Kai, which is Kai City Station. Take the JR Chuo Line to Oita Station. This journey takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes. From Oita Station, transfer to the JR Kyudai Line and take a train to Yufu Station, which will take another 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Yufu Station, you can take a local bus or taxi to Yunotsubo Kaido. The bus ride will take around 15 minutes and costs about 300 yen. Alternatively, a taxi will cost approximately 1,500 yen.
