Getting There

  • Car

    From Tokyo, take the Kan-Etsu Expressway (E17) toward Maebashi. The journey takes approximately 2 hours. Exit at the Maebashi interchange and follow the signs for Route 50. Continue on Route 50 for about 20 minutes until you reach the area near Fujimimachi Akagisan. Look for the signs leading to Akagiyama. There is parking available at the base of the mountain, which may incur a small fee (around ¥500).

  • Public Transportation

    Start by taking the JR Joetsu Shinkansen from Tokyo Station to Takasaki Station. This trip takes about 50 minutes. At Takasaki Station, transfer to the JR Kuragano Line and take a train to Kuragano Station (approximately 20 minutes). From Kuragano Station, take a local bus that goes to Akagiyama. The bus ride will take around 30 minutes and may cost about ¥600. Ensure to check the bus schedule in advance, as services may be limited.
