If you're traveling by car, start from Tanabe City. Take Route 42 south towards Nachikatsuura. After approximately 30 minutes, look for signs indicating the Kumano-Kodo trailheads. Public Transportation (Train and Bus)
Begin your journey at JR Tanabe Station. From there, take the Nankai Kido Line to Gobo Station. At Gobo Station, transfer to the JR Kisei Line and head towards Shingu. Get off at the Shingu Station, then transfer to the Kumano Kotsu Bus (Kumano Kodo Line) heading to Chikatsuyu. The bus ride will take around 40 minutes. Upon arriving at Chikatsuyu, follow the signs to the Chikatsuyu-Oji trailhead to begin your hike towards Kobiro-Oji.
