Getting There

Walking

From the Hankyu Arashiyama Station, exit and walk north towards the Togetsukyo Bridge. Cross the bridge and continue north, following the signs for Tenryu-ji Temple and the Bamboo Grove. The entrance to the Bamboo Grove is a short walk from the temple's north gate. This walk is approximately 15-20 minutes and is free of charge.
Public Transport

From Kyoto Station, take the JR Sagano Line to Saga-Arashiyama Station. The ride takes about 15 minutes and costs ¥240. From Saga-Arashiyama Station, walk north for about 10-15 minutes, following signs for Tenryu-ji Temple and the Bamboo Grove. Alternatively, take Kyoto City Bus #28 from Kyoto Station to the Arashiyama-Tenryuji-mae bus stop. The bus takes approximately 30-40 minutes and costs ¥230.
Taxi

From Kyoto Station, a taxi to Arashiyama takes approximately 25 minutes, depending on traffic, and costs around ¥3,400-¥4,200. Ask the driver to take you to the entrance of Tenryu-ji Temple or the Togetsukyo Bridge for easy access to the Bamboo Grove. Be aware that traffic can be heavy, especially during peak seasons.
Driving

Driving to Arashiyama is possible, but not recommended due to potential traffic congestion and limited parking. If driving, use the Kyoto City Arashiyama Tourist Parking Lot near Togetsukyo Bridge. Parking costs ¥1,000 per day for cars. Note that the parking lot is open from 8:00 to 17:00. From the parking lot, it's a short walk to the main attractions.
