Getting There

  • Bus

    From Kyoto Station, take the City Bus number 100 or 206 towards Gion. Ride the bus for about 20 minutes and get off at the Kodaiji-michi stop. From there, it is a short 5-minute walk to Kodaiji Park. Just head north on Shimokawaracho street until you see the park entrance.

  • Subway and Walking

    Take the Karasuma Subway Line from Kyoto Station to Karasuma Oike Station. Transfer to the Tozai Line and ride it to Higashiyama Station. Once you exit the station, take Exit 1 and walk east along Sanjo-dori Street for about 15 minutes. Turn left onto Shimokawaracho street and continue walking until you reach Kodaiji Park.

  • Bicycle Rental

    If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the many rental shops near Kyoto Station. Head southeast towards Gion, following the Kamo River. Once you reach the intersection near Kodaiji Temple, turn left onto Shimokawaracho street. Kodaiji Park will be on your right after a short ride.

    If you are staying nearby or want to explore on foot, start from Gion. Walk along Hanamikoji Street, then head south towards the Kamo River.
