Getting There

Train
From Kyoto Station, take the JR Kosei Line towards Ogaki. The train ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at Kusatsu Station. Once you arrive at Kusatsu Station, exit the station and walk towards the north exit. From there, you can take bus number 9, which will take you directly to the Lake Biwa Museum. The bus ride will take about 15 minutes. Get off at the 'Biwa Hakubutsukan' stop, and the museum will be a short walk from the bus stop.

From Kyoto Station, head to the bus terminal located just outside the station. Take a highway bus bound for Kusatsu. The journey takes approximately 50 minutes. Once you arrive at Kusatsu bus terminal, transfer to local bus number 9 towards the Lake Biwa Museum. The bus ride will take about 15 minutes. Get off at the 'Biwa Hakubutsukan' stop, and you will see the museum within walking distance.

Bicycle
If you prefer to cycle, you can rent a bicycle from a rental shop near Kyoto Station. Follow the path along the Kamo River towards the north. Continue on the cycling path until you reach the Oi River, then turn east. Follow the river until you reach Kusatsu. The ride will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your pace. Once in Kusatsu, follow local signs or a mapping app to navigate to Lake Biwa Museum, which is located at 1091 Oroshimocho.
