Getting There

  • Train

    From Kyoto Station, take the JR Nara Line towards Nara. Get off at Uji Station. From Uji Station, exit the station and turn right. Walk along the road for about 10 minutes until you reach the intersection. Turn left at the intersection, and continue on this road for another 15 minutes until you see Manpuku-ji on your left.

  • Bus

    From Kyoto Station, take the Kintetsu Bus bound for Uji. The journey takes about 45 minutes. Get off at the 'Manpuku-ji' bus stop. From the bus stop, walk straight for about 5 minutes until you reach the temple entrance.

  • Bicycle

    If you have rented a bicycle in Kyoto, head towards the Kamo River and follow the river downstream towards Uji. The ride takes about 30-40 minutes. Once you reach Uji, follow the signs to Manpuku-ji, which is located about 1 km from the river.
