Getting There

  • Public Transport

    From Kyoto Station, take the JR Nara Line towards Nara. Get off at Yamashina Station (approximately 15 minutes). Once you exit the station, head north and walk towards the main road (about 10 minutes). At the main road, turn right onto Zushiokukachocho and continue walking for about 15 minutes. You will see signs pointing to Shogunzuka Mound, which will be on your left.

  • Bus

    From Kyoto Station, take the Kyoto City Bus #206 or #207 towards Yamashina. Get off at the Zushiokuyama bus stop (approximately 30 minutes). From the bus stop, walk south on Zushiokukachocho for about 5 minutes, and you will find Shogunzuka Mound on your left.

  • Walking

    If you are near the Kyoto Botanical Gardens, you can walk to Shogunzuka Mound which is around 40 minutes away. Head east from the gardens towards the Kamo River, and follow the river north until you reach the intersection. Cross the river and continue walking towards Zushiokukachocho. Follow the road for about 15 minutes until you reach Shogunzuka Mound.
