Getting There

  • Public Transportation

    From Kyoto Station, take the JR Nara Line towards Nara and get off at Tofukuji Station (about 5 minutes). From Tofukuji Station, transfer to the Keihan Main Line and take a train towards Demachiyanagi. Get off at Sanjo Station (about 20 minutes). Once you exit Sanjo Station, head west to the Kamo River. Walk along the river for about 10 minutes until you reach the intersection with Shimomaruyacho street. Turn left on Shimomaruyacho. Continue walking for approximately 5 minutes until you reach Island-Lake, located in Nakagyo Ward.

    If you're near the Gion area, walk towards Shijo Avenue and head west. From Shijo Avenue, turn left onto Karasuma Street. Continue walking north until you reach the intersection with Shimomaruyacho. Turn right onto Shimomaruyacho and continue walking for about 10 minutes to reach Island-Lake.

  • Bicycle Rental

    If you're renting a bicycle, start from your rental location and head towards the Kamo River. Follow the river north until you reach the intersection with Shimomaruyacho. Turn left onto Shimomaruyacho and continue biking for about 10 minutes until you arrive at Island-Lake.
