Car
If you are traveling by car, start in Mutsu and head east on Route 280 towards Aomori. After approximately 30 km, merge onto Route 4 and continue for about 8 km. Once you enter Aomori city, follow signs for 'Honcho' and take a left onto 2 Chome-8-14. The Aomori Prefectural Museum will be on your right. Parking is available on-site, but keep in mind that there may be a parking fee.
Public Transportation - Bus
From Mutsu, take a bus to Aomori Station. Look for the 'Mutsu to Aomori' bus service, which typically departs from the Mutsu Bus Terminal. The ride takes about 50 minutes and costs around 1,200 yen. Once you arrive at Aomori Station, transfer to the local bus service (Aomori City Bus) and take the bus towards 'Honcho'. Get off at the 'Honcho 2-chome' stop, which is a short walk to the museum. The total travel time is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Public Transportation - Train
If you prefer to take the train, head to Mutsu Station and take a train to Aomori Station. The train ride takes about 40 minutes and costs approximately 1,000 yen. From Aomori Station, transfer to the Aomori City Bus and take the bus towards 'Honcho'. Disembark at 'Honcho 2-chome', which is within walking distance to the Aomori Prefectural Museum. The total travel time will be around 1 hour and 10 minutes.
