Getting There

  • Walking

    From Nagoya Station, exit through the Sakuradori Exit. Once outside, head straight towards the Nagoya City Science Museum, which will be on your left. Continue walking straight for about 15 minutes, keeping the museum on your left and heading towards the large park area. You will eventually reach the entrance of Nagoya Castle, located at 1-1 Honmaru, Naka Ward, Nagoya. The castle's main entrance is clearly marked and you will see the impressive stone walls as you approach.

  • Subway

    From Nagoya Station, take the Higashiyama Line (yellow line) of the subway. Board the train towards Fujigaoka and get off at Sakae Station (about 2 stops). At Sakae Station, transfer to the Meijo Line (purple line) and head towards Nagoya Castle. Get off at Nagoya Castle Station. From the station, it is a short 10-minute walk to the castle entrance. Follow the signs to Nagoya Castle, and enjoy the scenic walk through the surrounding area.

  • Bus

    From Nagoya Station, find the bus terminal located just outside the station. Take the Meitetsu Bus number 2 or 3 heading towards Nagoya Castle. The ride should take approximately 15 minutes. The bus will drop you off near the main entrance to the castle. Make sure to have some yen ready as the bus fare is around 210 yen. Once you get off, simply follow the signs leading to the castle.
