Walking
If you are at Nara Park, start by heading south towards the main road (Sanjo-dori). Once you reach Sanjo-dori, turn left and walk east until you reach the intersection with Heijokyu Street. Turn right onto Heijokyu Street and continue walking for about 15 minutes. You will see the Heijo Palace Site Museum on your left, just after you pass the Nara Prefectural Museum of Nature and History.

From Nara Station, take the Nara Kotsu bus (number 70, 71, or 73) towards Heijo Palace Site. The journey takes about 20 minutes. Get off at the Heijo Palace Site bus stop. Once you exit the bus, you will see the entrance to the Heijo Palace Site Museum directly ahead.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops near Nara Station. Head north on the path along the river towards Heijokyu Street. Once you reach Heijokyu Street, turn left and bike along the road for about 10 minutes. The Heijo Palace Site Museum will be on your right.
