Train
From Nara Station, take the Kintetsu Nara Line to Yamato Saidaiji Station. The journey takes about 20 minutes. Once you arrive at Yamato Saidaiji Station, transfer to the Kintetsu Osaka Line and head towards Osaka Uehommachi Station. After about 30 minutes, get off at Toyonaka Station.

From Nara, head to the Nara City Hall Bus Stop. Take the bus bound for Osaka (Nara Bus or Kintetsu Bus). The travel time is approximately 50 minutes. Once you arrive in Osaka, alight at Toyonaka Bus Stop. From there, it’s a 10-minute walk to the Open Air Museum of Old Japanese Farm Houses.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle in Nara. Take Route 24 heading towards Osaka, which connects directly to Toyonaka. This route is approximately 15 km and should take about an hour. Follow the signs leading to Hattoriryokuchi once you enter the Toyonaka area.

Walking
If you’re up for a longer adventure and are located near the Kintetsu Nara Station, you can walk to Toyonaka. It’s roughly a 10 km walk and will take about 2 hours. Head west from the station, following signs towards the Kintetsu Osaka Line, and then walk towards Hattoriryokuchi in Toyonaka.
