Bus
From Nara Park, walk to the nearest bus stop, Nara Koen Mae. Take the Kyoto-bound bus (number 205 or 18) and ride for about 45 minutes. Get off at the Shimogamo Jinja-mae bus stop. From the bus stop, walk 5 minutes to the south along the road, and you will reach Shimogamo Shrine.

From Nara Station, take the Kintetsu Nara Line to Kyoto Station. At Kyoto Station, transfer to the Kyoto Subway Karasuma Line and ride to Kitayama Station. From Kitayama Station, exit and walk north for about 15 minutes to reach Shimogamo Shrine.
